A TEENAGER was rewarded for her selflessness by Princess Anne.
Shoebury High pupil Maisie Beck, 15, was invited to the young achievers’ reception at Buckingham Palace.
She had the opportunity to meet Princess Anne, in recognition of her work with the St John Ambulance.
Maisie, of High Street, Shoebury, was also given a rare chance to tour Buckingham Palace.
Maisie said she enjoyed her trip to the palace.
She said: “I was really excited to meet Princess Anne.
“I really enjoy helping out others.”
Maisie’s grandmother, Mau-reen Townley, 73, also met Princess Anne when she was made an MBE for her tireless fundraising work for Southend Hospital.
Mrs Townley, of Little Thorpe, Thorpe Bay, said: “I said to her ‘you know it is like following in nanny’s footsteps’. It is lovely.”
