CYCLE Southend’s Re-Cycle Centre wants more unwanted bicycles to recycle and sell on to somebody else to love.
Any old bike will be welcome at the Centre in Brunel Road, off Progress Road, Eastwood even if you thinks it’s destined for the scrap heap.
Volunteers and fully-qualified Cytech technicians will inject it with a new lease of life and help someone who can’t afford to buy a new bike to get out, get pedalling and get healthy.
Southend councillor for Public Protection, Waste and Transport, Tony Cox, said: “It’s really important that people donate their old unwanted bicycles to help others, help the environment and aid the growth of the project.
“The more bicycles we can renovate, the more riders we can get on the road to take advantage of all our fantastic cycle routes as cycling is a great way of getting around town, while getting fit.”
For more information call 07824 301 609, email bikerecycle@southend.gov.uk or pop in to 2 Brunel Road.
Opening times are Tuesday 9am – 3pm, Wednesday 9am – 3pm, Thursday 4pm – 8pm (Sales day), Friday 9:30am – 12:30pm and Saturday 9:30am – 2pm (Sales day).
