A MOTHER and her toddler were threatened at gunpoint by raiders who burst into their home while they slept.
Police are still hunting the three thugs who targeted the flat near the Motor Star convenience store on Luncies Road, Vange and pointed a handgun at the terrified woman. They demanded she hand over cash.
The woman, who is in her 30s, and her young daughter were in bed sleeping when the drama unfolded.
Despite her terror the woman managed to reach the phone and called 999.
The three fled empty-handed before police arrived.
Armed officers and the Essex Police helicopter were sent to the scene and searched the area but failed to find them.
At the scene of the incident yesterday neighbours told of their shock.
Detectives are now investigating the incident.
Of the three men, one was white, one was black and one was of mixed race.
