BRAZEN drug dealers are burying their stashes just yards from a school...and right under the noses of police.
The pushers have been seen regularly lurking near the fence at Temple Sutton Primary School, Eastern Avenue, Southend.
There, they have been seen digging up their hauls by the garages backing on to Temple Court flats, in Pantile Avenue.
They then pop the wraps into their mouths for safe-keeping, and head off to do their deals.
Yesterday, police officers retrieved eight wraps of suspected class A drugs from the ground at about 10.20am.
Police arrived at 12.15pm and searched the area for the buried package, but she could see they were looking in the wrong place.
She called police and asked them to give the officers her mobile number so she could direct them. But she did not get a call back.
When she spotted the dealers again on Monday, she was put through to a police voice mail. She then lost her temper and went to Southend police station to complain.
A police spokeswoman admitted officers had been unable to find the drugs on their first visit. But after yesterday’s find, the spokeswoman added: “Police will now be fully investigating the issues surrounding this discovery.”
St Lukes councillor Paul van Looy said: “Residents have told me it was the Somali drug dealers again from London. We’ve got to get rid of them.”
