CHRISTMAS spirit arrived in Southend with a merry singalong, a host of festive stalls and a roller-skating pudding.
Southend Council and a group of major stores in the town centre put their hands in their pockets to kick off the yuletide season with a bang on Saturday.
Dozens of stalls lined the High Street and Victoria Circus as shoppers browsed through a range of treats and watched festive crooners belt out some Christmas classics.
