A LEGAL wrangle over the public’s right to use sporting facilities at a new £31million school looks set to continue for another year.
Leaders at Belfairs High School, which moved into its new building in September, and Sport England say they cannot agree the terms of a deal to let members of the public into the state-of-the-art facilities.
Under the terms of the planning permission granted by Southend Council, an agreement setting out what facilities would be available and when should have been signed before the school moved in.
But planning officers have recommended councillors rubber-stamp an extension, giving the two parties another 12 months, at the development control committee meeting tomorrow.
