THERE is a chance to start the new with a new hobby and a new way to keep fit.
Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre will be launching a new five-a-side football league in January.
It’s set to be a fantastic way for both individuals and teams to play regular weekly football in an organised league without the need to find reliable opponents.
The minimum age for players is 16 and sessions in the main sports hall are £5 per person. Matches will take place weekly on Sundays between 6pm and 8pm.
Derek Jarvis, Southend councillor responsible for culture and tourism, said: “Football is great as part of a weekly fitness routine.
“It provides a wonderful cardio vascular workout so players can get fit and enjoy playing their favourite sport in a competitive yet fun environment.”
