POLICE are still trying to catch vandals who slashed the tyres of 18 cars and vans.
Officers have issued a fresh appeal for information, nearly a month after the incidents, in Vange and Pitsea. In total, 34 tyres were slashed or punctured causing nearly £3,000 damage.
The vehicles were in roads including Alcotes, Sandon Road, Lindsell Green, Collingwood Road, Maplin Gardens, Linsell Lane and Lambourne Green.
Beech Road was the worst-hit, with ten vehicles damaged. Insp Cath Henderson, of Pitsea police, said: “We are hoping this fresh appeal will jog the memory of someone who was in the area at the time and saw something.”
Witnesses to the incidents, which all happened sometime between the evening of Sunday, November 13 and the following morning, are asked to contact the Basildon East Neighbourhood Policing Team, on 101, or call Crimestoppers, anonymousl,y on 0800 555111.
