A MAN, alleged to have been involved in a three-hour stand-off with armed police, has been charged.
Carl Garwood, 45, of no fixed address is alleged to have claimed to have had a gun at the Pullman Tavern pub in High Street, Grays on Wednesday March 8.
He was arrested and charged with causing criminal damage to the pub, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence and obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of his duty.
Garwood was due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Friday to face the charges.
