AN injured goalkeeper who was assaulted outside a nightclub in Brentwood has been given a discharge date from hospital.
Billericay Town keeper Nicky Morgan, 26, is set to leave the specialist spinal unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire on May 30.
Nicky was left partially paralysed after the attack but now after just two months of physiotherapy and occupational therapy he has been told he will be going home in just under three months.
He said: βIt is such great news, I am really pleased. It just proves if you work hard then you can achieve your goals. I had been told earlier by the doctors that I should be able to go home around May so its really good.
βI have been doing more walking by the day and really coming on. I have been doing lots of exercises on the treadmill and walking round the hospital each day to build up my strength.β
