EXPENSES cheat Lord Hanningfield will be allowed to return to the House of Lords next month.
The former Essex County Council leader has repaid the expenses he wrongly claimed and his suspension will come to an end after the House of Lords’ Easter break, on April 16.
The peer, 71, from West Hanningfield, whose real name is Paul White, was jailed for nine months in July last year after being convicted of falsely claiming almost £14,000 expenses from the House of Lords.
He was released from prison on licence last September.
A House of Lords spokeswoman said: “Lord Hanningfield will be eligible to return after the Easter recess.
“He has paid back the money he owes.”
