A DECISION is set to be made by the end of the month on whether alcohol can be served into the early hours at Leigh’s Grand Hotel.
A bid to serve booze until 2.30am on Friday and Saturday nights, until 1am from Sunday to Wednesday and until 2am on Thursdays will be debated by Southend councillors on March 26.
The authority has also set aside a meeting room for the 27 and 28 in case the meeting takes more than one day.
The application is part of a plan to breathe new life into the landmark hotel in Leigh Broadway.
A separate proposal has been lodged with the council to install a spa in the basement of the building and Brentwood businessman Michael Norcross, who is also a star of reality show The Only Way is Essex, is keen to turn the premises into a boutique hotel and spa.
