A MODEL turned stand-up comic has scored a role presenting a show which gives women a dressing down.
Ellie Taylor, 28, originally from Basildon, is the new host of the BBC Three show Snog Marry Avoid? after previous host Jenny Frost quit.
The show follows women deemed to be wearing a bit too much make up or fake tan and wear skimpy clothing before giving them a “make-under”.
Miss Taylor will front the show on Monday, at 10.30pm.
She said: “I was expecting to be shocked before we started recording, but when I saw the girls and boys for the first time I was simply gobsmacked at how heavily made-up they were.
“The makeovers they get are brilliant. The show itself is supposed to be a bit tongue in cheek, but about 80 per cent of the people love the new look and it can be quite therapuetic for them.”
Last year, Miss Taylor turned to a career in stand-up comedy after taking part in ITV’s Show Me The Funny. She then appeared on shows such as Eight Out Of Ten Cats. She added: “I have a few future ideas in the pipeline, including going to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe in the summer for the first time.”
