A PERSON was found dead on the train line between Benfleet and Leigh, it has been confirmed.
In what is being described as not suspicious, they were pronounced dead at the scene this morning.
Officers were called to the train line at around 9.06am this morning.
c2c trains have been delayed, with no trains running between Benfleet and Leigh.

A spokesman from British Transport Police, said: "Officers were called to the line in Benfleet at 9.06am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
