People in south Essex are being encouraging to take up walk-in Covid jab appointments.
The Southend CCG says people will be able to have the jab without an appointment at a number of locations from this week.
The walk-in opportunities are only for over 40s as it stands as they are offering the AstraZeneca vaccine.
There are now walk in clinics for first and second AstraZeneca jabs from now to end of July.
They will take place at the following locations and times:
- Wednesdays 2 -8pm- Saxon Hall, Aviation Way, SS2 6UN
- Thursdays 8am – 2pm- Belle Vue Church, Belle Vue Avenue, SS1 2QZ
- Sunday 8am – 4pm- Saxon Hall
Anyone can attend no appointment will be needed.
The CCG is following Government guidance so people will only be able to get their second jab if they had their first vaccine no sooner than eight weeks prior.
Residents are advised there may be a wait and social distancing rules must followed.
People who are age 25 to 39, or who would prefer the certainty of a guaranteed booked appointment, can book online at nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or phone 119 to get their appointment scheduled.

The scheme is part of a fresh drive to encourage more people of all ages and ethnicities to get the coronavirus vaccine.
It is also designed to make the process more accessible and flexible for those who lead busier and more hectic lives.
