ROCKS surrendered a 2-0 lead as they were held to a point at home to bottom-of-the-table Leiston.
The hosts almost took a 10th minute lead when Kris Newby fired against the post after Martin Tuohy had unnerved the visitors' defence.
But they did get their noses in front on 21 minutes when Rocks captain Reiss Gilbey calmly lobbed keeper Danny Potter.
Home keeper Richard Wray made a fine save to deny Emmanuel Osei an equaliser late in the first-half.
Instead Rocks took a 2-0 lead into the interval when Hakeem Araba forced the ball home from a corner.
Leiston pulled one back soon after the restart when Gareth Heath's cross was slid home by Patrick Brothers.
And they got an equaliser 15 minutes from time when Osei's cross looped over Wray and dropped inside the far post.
And Wray was called into action again soon after, this time to make a finger-tip save to keep out Nathan Stone's low shot.
East Thurrock: Wray, Sammons, Stephen, Harrison, Peddie, Parmenter, Newby, Gilbey, Araba, Tuohy, Collins.
