WE'VE had two very good results against in form League One sides in the space of four days and we'll be wanting to take that form in to Saturday's game at Fleetwood Town.

It's very bizarre what's gone on there this week with their manager Micky Mellon being sacked when they're seventh in the table.

But reading between the lines it seems as though he fell out with the chairman about making new signings.

It still seems very odd though because he helped them win the Conference last year and has put their football club on the map.

How that will affect things for us this weekend we will have to wait and see.

Their players could well be fired up to impress their new manager who could well be watching from the stands or they could be down in the dumps about him leaving.

We will have to assume that they will be at their best and I'm sure it will be a difficult game.

However, we're flying at the moment and I thought we were the better team in the matches against both Bury and Brentford.

The cup competitions certainly aren't interfering with our league form either and they've been very entertaining to watch.

Unfortunately that's what I'm having to do at the moment but I've had the fourth and final injection on my knee now and hopefully I can be back in training around Christmas time.

CHRISTMAS CANCELLED FOR BLUES?

Football is always very hard to predict and unfortunately the draw at Bury at the weekend meant our planned Christmas party has had to be cancelled.

We were all going to head out after this weekend's game at Fleetwood but we have an FA Cup replay to prepare for now.

Getting things right in the build up to games is vitally important in the modern game but hopefully we will be able to all get out at some point as it's always good for team spirit.

POOR OLD MARC

Marc Laird had to rush off from the training ground earlier this week after his dog became very unwell.

Lairdy was really concerned and ended up spending £1,000 at the vets to find out what was wrong.

And it was only then that it became apparent the dog had eaten 10 Brillo Pads from the kitchen cupboard!

DRIVING DEFENDERS MAD

Gavin Tomlin continued his fantastic form by scoring again against Bury on Saturday and he's now celebrating off the pitch too after finally passing his driving test.

I'm not too sure why he hasn't been driving until the age of 29 and I think he must have taken about 10 years worth of lessons.

But he's now finally able to get behind the wheel of a car and maybe it's more than just a coincidence that he's now started to hit the back of the net more often.

>ON BEHALF of everyone in the squad and at the football club I'd like to express our deepest sympathies to Mitchell Cole's family following his sudden death at the weekend, aged just 27.

The football industry is one big family and when we lose a fellow professional it's very shocking.

It's hard to take in and a young father has now lost their father which is tragic.

I've spoken to people like Adam Barrett, Alan McCormack and Steve Morrison who all knew Mitchell well and they all told me he was a great lad.

What has happened is very shocking and our thoughts and prayers are all with Mitchell's family at the moment.
