DAVID Martin has left Southend United after having his contract at the club terminated.
The 27-year-old winger, who is now expected to join National Conference side Luton Town, had found it hard to hold down a regular starting slot this season.
And he has now been allowed to leave to enable Southend boss Paul Sturrock to make new signings.
"David hasn't really been able to get in the side so far this season and we needed to get people out if anyone was to come in,” said Sturrock.
"We wish Dave all the best in finding a club and hopefully he can get something sorted during this transfer window."
Martin joined Blues from Derby County in January 2012 and scored four goals in 35 games.
