Ryman Premier
East Thurrock United 2, Bury Town 2
DAVID Bryant scored a first-half brace but Rocks were pegged back after the restart and had to settle for an opening-day point.
Bryant fired home the first from close range on 30 minutes from a low cross from Luke Wanadio.
And the former Chelmsford striker, inset, doubled the hosts' advantage just before the break when he dispatched a loose ball in the box after Bury failed to clear Nathan Koranteng’s low cross.
But Bury, who’ve invested well in their squad this summer, pulled one back early in the second half with a shot from Billy Clark which deflected in off Rocks defender Simon Peddie.
And they equalised midway through the half when Adam Bailey-Dennis fired a low, left-foot shot home from just inside the box.
