PEGASUS & Corringham head into the clash with Westcliff on Sea on Saturday in fine fettle.
Pegs lost by five wickets to Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Three leaders West Essex last Saturday.
But captain Paul Bennett is not worried about facing another team looking to secure promotion this summer.
“It will be a tough game but, as I’ve said before, I would back us against anyone at home,” said Bennett.
The match heralds the return of 50-over matches for the final four weeks of the season and that also suits the Herd Lane team.
“We prefer 50-over games because that’s where we are from in the T Ripon League,” added Bennett.
“We are used to that but Westcliff are a good all-round bunch.
“When we played them last time Adam Pickering was the difference between the two side.”
Pickering scored 100 runs for the Chalkwell Park side before claiming 7-44 with the ball to help Westcliff secure a 55-run win over Pegasus last month. Pegs will be a full strength with the return of Neil Gray, Chris Baker and wicketkeeper Mark Jenkins for Saturday’s match.
