London Bari 0, Great Wakering Rovers 2

GREAT Wakering continued their perfect start to the league campaign with a straight forward win at London Bari.

In his first start of the season, Dave Collins gave them a 17th minute lead with a screamer from outside the box which flew into the top corner.

And they made the game safe with 13 minutes to go when George Artemi attacked the ball from five yards out with a header from a corner and found the net.

The result also made it three clean sheets from the opening four games for Rovers, which will delight player-manager Dan Trenkel.

Hullbridge Sports 0, Clapton 0.

SPORTS picked up a point but should have had three in an entertaining goalless draw with Clapton, who finished with 10 men.

Josh Coulson was shown a straight red for kicking Aaron Hunwicks and was sent off just before the hour mark.

Hullbridge had a number of chances, most notably when Tom Peck hit the bar in the first half, and when Chris Brown headed over with the goal at his mercy midway through the second.

Sports assistant manager Mark Bliss: “Last season that would have been a good point for us, but this season we see that as two dropped.”

Sawbridgeworth Town 3, Southend Manor 2

A WINNER from Sam Zanoni a minute from time for Sawbo broke Manor hearts after they had fought back to level at 2-2.

A brace from Mark Robinson late in the first half had put the hosts in control following a dominant opening 45 minutes.

But a penalty from Tom Newell seven minutes after the restart and a 77th minute effort from Dan Williams following a nice through ball from Mark Sisson, looked to have secured Leon Woodford’s side a point.

But with time running out, Zanoni glanced a header home via a deflection from Williams to snatch all three points.
