WE’RE off to Bury this weekend in a determined frame of mind, looking to end the bad run of results we’ve suffered in our last few games.
We’ve all been really disappointed to have been beaten in our last four outings, especially as three of the performances during that time have been quite good.
It’s just not happening for us at the moment but we’ve been training very hard this week and I’m sure things will soon start to turn for us and the results will improve.
In the last few games, individual errors have been costing us dear but you won’t see anyone of us blaming individuals for something they have done.
Nobody is perfect so we all make mistakes at times and it’s how you react to them that matters.
We’re a close knit group and we rally round someone when it’s not going their way.
At the same time, we know we need to try and cut these errors out we’ll be trying to do that as a collective unit.
We still very much believe in each other and the ability we possess in our squad but the only way we can sort things out is to work even harder until things finally come back in your favour.
We’re obviously quite a young side and, I’m one of the older guys here now, so I’ll be looking to help the younger lads out however I can.
They will learn and grown the more they play but the older lads have a responsibility to guide them when they need it and that’s something we’ll be looking to do.
It’s not all doom and gloom though because I think we’ve played well in every game we’ve had so far this season, apart from the Morecambe match.
Hopefully we’ll also have John White back for the game tomorrow but I’m not sure how he’s getting on with the thigh injury he had because that’s between the physio and himself.
He’s a massive player for us though, he’s our captain and we would love to have him back.
Bury came down from League One last season but we still played them twice after being drawn against them in the FA Cup.
I know both teams have changed quite a bit since then but Gigg Lane is a very, very tough place to go and I think they have a very good team there.
You can’t look at their previous results either because they don’t count for anything at this level.
They will be looking to bounce back, just like us but we’re fired up to make sure it’s us who come out on top.
And hopefully I’ll have a positive performance and result to be talking about in the column next week.
