LEWIS Clark was the man on form at the Thorpe Bay Angling Association Southend Pier Open competition.
Clark won the overall competition and also caught the heaviest fish of the day.
Twenty-four anglers took part and club secretary Doug Hannaby put in a 12-hour stint to ensure a successful day.
But just a few sizeable fish reached the weigh-in although a number of undersized fish were also landed and returned. Barry Tillson and Graham Bolton shared overall runners-up spot along with being joint winners of section A.
The club has pencilled its 2014 matches in for mid March for the beach match, with the pier event in September. Anyone wishing to join TBAA to participate in its club beach, pier, evening and boat matches for 2014 can contact the club secretary on 01702 216429.
Alternatively, they may attend the meetings held at the TEAC club in Thorpe Bay on the first Tuesday of each month.
