I’M a big fan of the Friday night games at Roots Hall and tonight’s clash with Bristol Rovers is one we’re all looking forward to.
I know these matches are something of a tradition at the club and there does seem to be more of an atmosphere for them.
There’s always a real buzz under the lights, there’s a bit more zip on the pitch and that normally suits us so hopefully it will be a similar story tonight.
We’ve had another really hard week in training and we’ve been going back to basics in a bid to cut the errors we’ve been making out of our game.
We want to put right where it’s been going wrong and that makes this evening’s game a very important one.
If we’d had it our way we would have much preferred to have had another match before now because we’re determined to put things right and get back to winning ways after a frustrating few weeks.
Bristol Rovers are a big club at this level and they have some very good players so it will be another testing game and one we will know we will have to play well in.
But we’re fully focused on ourselves and getting the three points.
Bury was incredibly frustrating because we looked like getting the win we all wanted until we let in a bad goal right at the end.
It was hard to take and it made the journey home seem even longer than it actually was.
However, tonight is another opportunity to get a win and it’s one we will be going all out to take.
It’s a blow to be without the suspended Ben Coker because he’s been a very good player for us this season.
But we have other players who can fit in and hopefully they can do as well as Ben has been doing to help us get the victory we all want.
