GLENN Poole said he is back in a good state of mind and looking forward to playing for Billericay in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The midfielder ended his self-imposed mini exile from football on Monday night when he started for Town in their 2-1 away win against Hendon.

With a trip to St Albans City in the Second Qualifying Round of the competition tomorrow, Poole said he is glad to be back in the side after spending four matches away from New Lodge.

Poole said: “It was a funny time for me as for the first time in years I wasn’t enjoying myself and I had to go away and do a bit of soul searching.

“But, to be honest, it is the best thing I could have done and I missed being about the club and playing the game and it really got my head together.

“For the foreseeable future I will definitely be at Billericay and I just want to thank all the fans for the positive messages they sent during the break.

“I want to thank (Town’s manager) Craig Edwards as well for sticking by me and now I am going to give it a right go.”
