STEVE Sheehan’s late equaliser earned East Thurrock United a 2-2 draw at Harrow Borough in the Ryman Premier League.
The unmarked Sheehan headed home a free-kick from former Southend United midfielder Stuart Thurgood to secure Rocks a point which kept them 13th in the table.
Before the late drama, Harrow had started brightly but failed to capatilise on the chances that came their way in the opening quarter of an hour.
But the hosts finally went ahead three minutes before the break when Rhys Murrell-Williamson’s corner was headed back into danger by captain Danny Leach to allow Jake Gilbert to flick the ball past Rocks’ goalkeeper Sam Mott.
The Rocks seemed more determined after the break and, in the 56th minute, they drew back level when Leon McKenzie blasted a beautiful volley past Harrow goalkeeper Daniel Lincoln.
Harrow retook the lead with 84 minutes on the clock when Shaun Lucien netted a free-kick from just outside the area. But Sheehan’s late header meant that the game ended all square.
