KARL Pryce enjoyed a winning debut with Southend Rugby Club, helping his new side beat Canterbury 34-27 at Warners Bridge.
Pryce, who has bagged 83 tries in his Super League career playing Rugby League, lined up at centre as the Seasiders recorded a third win in four games.
And player coach Michael Guess was full of praise for Pryce’s performance.
“Karl has a massive presence and I think the other lads will all learn from him while he’s here,” said Guess.
“I knew all about him before he came in because he came to Gloucester just as I left and I also follow Rugby League, so it’s great he’s come to the club.
“He had to go off in the second half after picking up a knee injury but it was a precautionary measure and I’m sure he’s going to do well for us.”
