NOT having Ricky Sappleton available will be a big loss for four matches according to Billericay boss Craig Edwards.
The striker who has scored seven goals already this season will miss the Ryman Premier League clash with Kingstonian tomorrow plus three more games after being red carded against Carshalton on September 21.
With the goal threat from the former Bournemouth gone until the Dulwich Hamlet match on October 26, Edwards said it was up to the rest of his side to put in a good performance.
Edwards said: “Obviously you want your best players playing so it will be a loss not having him for four games.
“But there is no single player at the club who is irreplaceable and the other guys need to show their talent. But when a player like Ricky is averaging nearly a goal a game, you want him available. But we’ll go out on Saturday and give it a real go.”
Paul Rodgers (thigh) and Jeffrey Imudia (groin) both face late fitness tests to see if they will able to make the squad for Kingstonian’s visit.
Edwards said it is case of “waiting and seeing” if the duo will be able to play.
He also said Saturday will be a tough game against the side who sit third in the table.
“It is going to be a big test,” he said.
“But we have been pleased with how we have been playing recently. We had a bit of a slow start but I think we have improved as the season has gone on.
“We are getting better and better. It was disappointing to go out of the FA Cup last weekend but we had won four out of five matches before that so it is looking good.”
