ADAM Hickey won his fourth Southend 10k on the spin in glorious conditions yesterday.
The Southend AC athlete made it a total of six wins overall in what is his home-town race.
The 25-year-old finished in an unofficial time of 31m 17s, breaking away from team-mate Paul Whittaker about half way along the seafront course.
Whittaker finished in second in 31m 47s with Tom Frith making it a one-two-three for Southend AC, coming home in 32m 7s.
Hickey’s training partner Gemma Kersey took the honours in the women’s race.
The 21-year-old Basildon Ac athlete, running in her first 10km race, finished in 36m 8s.
Both Hickey and Kersey are trained by Eamonn Martin, a former winner of the event himself.
The second woman home was Southend AC’s Kerry Holland in 37m 18s.
