Doubts remain over the identity of the Shrimpers goalscorer on Saturday as both Freddy Eastwood and Mark Gower continue to claim the effort.
Eastwood unleashed a low 20-yard free-kick which took a deflection before hitting the back of the net.
And the striker revealed after the final whistle that Gower had given him the goal.
"Mark wasn't sure if he touched it so he's given me the goal and it's great to get on the score-sheet," said Eastwood.
But Gower offered a different explanation on events.
"I definitely touched it on the way through and it's mine," he said.
The bookmakers at the ground also agreed with the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee as they paid out on him scoring the first goal of the game.
