WESTCLIFF moved back to the top of the London One North table with a 66-7 win against Letchworth Garden City on Saturday.
Westcliff surged ahead of title rivals Eton Manor who suffered a shock 14-12 defeat at Ruislip.
And Westcliff winger Chris Dudman now wants to finish the job off with a victory at North Walsham this weekend.
“Promotion would mean everything for us,” said the 21-year-old, who came off the bench during the crucial win.
“Many of the boys playing this year have already tasted promotion in to National Three and it’s something we all want to experience again.
“It would also show our depth and resistance at the club to collect ourselves after relegation last year and fight our way back up.”
Westcliff now top the table with just one game of the season to go.
The Essex side travel to sixth placed North Walsham while Eton Manor head to third placed Luton.
But Dudman is taking nothing for granted and is expecting a very difficult test.
“This game is undoubtedly the biggest of the season for us but it’s our furthest away game and North Walsham are also on a two year winning home run,” said Dudman.
“That has gained a lot of respect from other teams but all these challenges against us will only bring out the best in our game and spur us on to regain our position in the National Leagues.”
Westcliff are now in pole position to make that happen after a dominant display against Letchworth Full-back Greg Bannister, centre Elliott Harvey and back row Chris Marsh all touched down early on for the hosts and centre Seb Reynolds then also bagged a brace of tries.
Number eight Sam Reynolds then also did likewise before replacement prop Shaun Roberts and captain Ian Dartnell also went over.
Jack Jones soon followed them in scoring a try to take his points tally for the afternoon to 19 after also kicking seven conversions.
