SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown does not envisage Jamar Loza and Jacob Murphy returning to Norwich City early, despite the change of management at the Canaries.
The teenage duo are currently on loan at Roots Hall from the Norfolk outfit.
And Brown hopes that will not be affected by Neil Adams replacing Chris Hughton in charge at the Premier League strugglers.
“I’ve spoken to the chief scout at Norwich and they’re delighted with the progress and the opportunities the two lads are getting with us so I don’t see anything changing,” said Brown.
“There’s no call back clause in the deal until their first month ends with us anyway but after that there is a 24 hour call back.
“We certainly want them to stay and we want to extend Jamar’s loan beyond a month if we can because they both have pace and quality in the final third and that’s exactly why we brought them in.
“They’re both doing well but Neil Adams has been heavily involved in the youth set up at Norwich so to a certain extend we’re also in no man’s land a little bit.”
Striker Loza, 19, has scored once in four appearances since signing on loan and caught the eye in an impressive man of the match display against Oxford United last month.
His loan spell comes to an after Blues’ home clash against Accrington Stanley on Monday April 21 but Brown is keen to keep the youngster until the end of the season.
Winger Murphy, who is also 19, has already agreed to spend the rest of the campaign with the Shrimpers.
He has made two substitute appearances since signing for sixth placed Blues but has yet to hit the back of the net.
The winger will now be aiming to impress, along with Loza, when the Shrimpers host AFC Wimbledon at Roots Hall this weekend looking for a fourth successive win.
