HULLBRIDGE Sports’ under-15 side take on East Thurrock United in the Eastern Junior Alliance President’s Cup final on Sunday — and they have done it the hard way.
The team have reached the final having had to travel away from home in every round of the competition.
They saw off Langford, Bury Town, Ryan and then, in the semi-finals, Buckhurst Hill.
Manager Dave Carter expects East Thurrock to be a formidable test, but says his side have gained confidence from the way they have battled to the final.
He said: “We’ve terrific team spirit, good self belief and a viable game plan.
“In the league fixture in October we were only beaten in the last minute after twice going ahead.
“We know that they’re a very tough side, very likely to be league champions but we’ll be rocking up in good form and ready to play.”
Sunday’s cup final takes place at Great Wakering’s Burroughs Park home at 11am.
* HULLBRIDGE will be looking to strengthen the side for next season and any players interested in trials in the first instance please contact Russell Hobbs on 07971 577468. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
