WHILE the windy and wet weather may not have been to everyone’s liking, anglers at Doggetts certainly welcomed it as the drop in air pressure and westerly gales saw plenty of fish biting.
The carp anglers caught some nice fish plus some very good tench while the float fishermen enjoyed sport on most baits.
Ricky Knott spent a night on the short arm where he was surprised to land only one mid-double plus tench.
Having struggled for the last few sessions, Richard Cooper fished a margin swim on the long arm where he banked a 17lb common an 18lb mirror plus some tench, although Richard did lose a much larger carp.
Olli Dunkley fished a quick overnight session on the South Bank where he lost a good fish, but did land a stunning, and very rare, 9.5lb tench.
Dunkley went on to land a scrappy mid-double mirror before his session finished.
Paul Williams dropped into the South Bank for his first ever visit to Doggetts and was pleased with his choice of swim as his first 24 hours on the lake saw him land three doubles plus some nice tench.
Regulars to the lake, Carla Holborough and her companion Dan Sibley braved a westerly gale to fish the north bank for a day. Again it proved to be a good choice of swim as Holborough landed a fine 15lb mirror and Sibley a cracking 25lb mirror.
Bill Hierons dropped into the North Bank where he landed a 16lb mirror having only fished for 15 minutes.

Fishing the margins proved a wise choice as the smallest of bites soon turned into quite a scrap when Say hit what was obviously a good fish.
Not being able to give his fish too much line, he soon had his fish in the net which proved to be one of Doggetts bigger commons which weighed
