Southend United goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan came back to haunt Cardiff City boss Dave Jones at Ninian Park on Saturday.
The Bluebirds chief decided to let Flahavan depart during his spell in charge of the Saints during the late 1990s.
But the Shrimpers shot-stopper again proved his worth at the weekend - pulling off a string of fine saves to help his side secure their first league success on the road this season.
"It was nice to come and refresh Dave's mind a bit to be honest," said Flahavan, who enjoyed a memorable 300th appearance for the club between the sticks.
"He decided to let me go which was disappointing, but the main thing was winning the game and that feels great - it doesn't really matter who the opposing manager was."
