VICKY Clow has been selected for Scotland in the Rhythmic Gymnastics Team Event at the Commonwealth Games.
Clow, a Southend-based University of Essex student, is one of three women in the squad.
And she has benefitted from the university’s sports scholarship programme, which offers a range of support services including sports science, strength and conditioning training, physiotherapy, lifestyle advice, and a financial support package.
Dave Parry, performance sport director at Essex, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Vicky and we look forward to some outstanding performances from her in Glasgow.
“We are starting to see a number of our sports scholarship athletes at the University achieve great results in elite sport, and this is evidence that our athlete-centred support programme is producing the outcomes for our students that we hoped it would.”
