Jay Smith is close to sealing his switch from Southend United to Notts County.
The 25-year-old midfielder - who has been plagued by injuries during his stint with the Shrimpers - has spent the last two months on loan at the Magpies.
And Smith is keen to stay at Meadow Lane as the League Two side chase a play-off place, according to his agent Richard Cody.
"Jay is enjoying playing regularly again and we're in discussions with Notts County over a permanent switch," confirmed Cody.
"He was disappointed not to play for Southend at the start of the season after working so hard to get his fitness back, but these things happen and he is playing very well again."
But while one of Cody's players looks set to be leaving Roots Hall, another - winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce - will definitely be staying.
"Jamal is only interested in playing for Southend," said Cody.
"There have been clubs looking at him, but he doesn't want to go anywhere else."
