Southend United goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan offered an honest assessment of his side's 3-1 reverse at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Shrimpers shot-stopper made some stunning saves to deny Spurs on several occasions in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
But he was unable to stop his side suffering what he believed to be a deserved defeat.
"I think sometimes in this game you just have to hold your hands up and say we were well beaten by a better team," confessed the keeper.
"That's what happened on Saturday and it was disappointing because we didn't really test them as much as we wanted to, but they're a fine side and it was always going to be hard for us."
