BILLERICAY Town Ladies made it back-to-back draws as they took a point against struggling Haringey Borough.
A goal from Paris Smith put Town ahead before the visitors grabbed their equaliser midway through the second half.
Town goalkeeper Hollie Dimambro was called into action with 15 minutes on the clock but pulled off a great save and Sophie Whiting, an early substitute, made an immediate impact.
A Whiting corner was swung in and Paris Smith struck through a crowded penalty area to put the hosts ahead.
Hayley Piggott was denied before Dimambro again had to be at her best to preserve the slender advantage.
Into the second half, Smith saw a header come back off the post before Whiting’s in-swinging delivery came back off the woodwork.
It was a momentary lapse in concentration that saw the visitors get back into the match.
A quick free kick split Billericay’s defence in half for the striker to run onto the loose ball to equalise.
The game could have gone either way after that with Town manager Kim Coster saying it was a fair result.
“The pitch was boggy due to the heavy rain so the players had to work hard,” she said. “I was pleased to get a point today as we could have lost this game due to Haringey’s long ball and pace upfront, and Dimambro pulled off some great saves in goal for us.”
Billericay’s next match is away at Stevenage on Sunday at 2pm.
Billericay Town Ladies: Dimambro, Roberts (Bowman), Lainsey, Dunne (Appleton), Darling (Robins), Whitehead, Barker, Piggott, Poleykett (Whiting), Smith, Murphy (Smith)
