SOUTHEND United have completed the loan signing of Charlton Athletic striker Joe Pigott.
The 21-year-old has joined the Shrimpers on an initial month long loan.
And Blues boss Phil Brown has revealed the youngster will go straight in to the squad for tomorrow's clash against Plymouth Argyle at Roots Hall.
“We're really pleased to have brought Joe to the club and he's someone we do believe has a goal in him,” said Brown.
“He caught our eye when he played for Charlton against us in a behind closed doors friendly and that's the beauty of the games.
“He's a big lad and he did well with Newport earlier on in the season so this is a good deal for us.
“He with us for an initial month and then we will have a look at things again after that.
“But he will definitely be involved in the Plymouth game.”
Pigott, who came through the youth team at Charlton, has made 16 appearances for the Addicks' first team and has also spent time on loan with both Gillingham and Newport.
Pigott came off the bench for the Welsh side during their 1-0 win against Southend in October and scored three goals in six league starts.
