FORMER Manchester City manager Brian Horton has been confirmed as football coordinator at Southend United.
As was revealed in Echosport last week, Horton will again team up with Shrimpers boss Phil Brown for the third time in his career.
And Brown is delighted to have welcomed Horton to Roots Hall.
“Brian was itching to come on board and he will be priceless to us,” said the Blues bosss.
“He will be football co-ordinator and will cover all areas.
“He will work with the first team, the under 21s, the academy, the building of the new ground and the dome as well.
“There’s lot of things for him to have his hands on and we would be foolish to ignore someone of his experience.”
Horton has previously worked with Brown at both Hull City and Preston North End.
The 66-year-old has also managed Oxford United, Huddersfield Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Macclesfield Town.
