SOUTHEND United strikers David Mooney and Noel Hunt could both be back in the squad for tomorrow’s clash at Wigan Athletic.

The Irishmen both returned to full training yesterday morning after almost two months on the sidelines.

Providing they suffer no reaction from a further training session this morning, Blues boss Phil Brown will include them in his travelling party.

“It was great to see Noel and David both back out there training again and if they come through today unscathed then I will be adding them to the squad,” said Brown.

“I’m not too sure if they will be fit enough to play much of a part just yet but there’s a decision to be made and it’s definitely good to have them nearing a return.”

Anthony Wordsworth (hamstring), Myles Weston (calf) and Michael Timlin (knee) will all still be unavailable.

Brown has promised to make at least two changes to his team.

“There are players I want to have a look at before the end of the season.

“I’ll definitely be making a couple of changes,” said Brown.

“But we’re still taking these matches very seriously and want to finish as high up the table as we can while also gathering some momentum to take in to next season.”

Midfielders Franck Moussa and Sam McQueen are among those being considered for a start along with goalkeeper Ted Smith if he is 100 per cent fit.
