SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown felt David Worrall showed ‘where he wants to be ‘ in Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at Bury.
Worrall has yet to commit his future to the Shrimpers despite being offered a new deal.
And Brown fears the winger - who has been with Blues for the past two seasons - could well end up leaving Roots Hall this summer.
“For me I thought David Worrall showed where he really wants to be on Sunday,” said the Blues boss.
“Their fans virtually chair-lifted him off the pitch at the end of the game.
“When someone doesn’t come back to you after being offered a new contract then of course you fear they’re going to be leaving.
“But the ball is very much in David’s court and I’ll be talking to him again very soon to find out what he’s thinking.”
Worrall came through the youth system at Bury before returning for a four year spell where he made 167 appearances.
The Shakers failed in an attempt to bring him back on loan earlier on in the season and are still believed to be keen on signing him.
However, other clubs are also tracking the winger.
