l RUNDOWN: EAST Thurrock face their longest trip of the season tomorrow when they take on south west side Truro City.
Rocks travelled down to the Cornish coast today so to avoid traffic trouble and they head into the match on a decent run of form. Just one defeat in their last six National League South matches represents a solid start to the season for John Coventry’s men.
They have enjoyed a more profitable start to the campaign than Truro, who were expected to be a force to be reckoned with after their top five finish last year.
Truro have three points less than Rocks and sit 15th ahead of the match, having lost 2-0 to Maidenhead in their last outing.
l MANAGER’S VIEW: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “We left at 2pm today and it has to be done so we might as well try to enjoy it.
“A lot of clubs change over the summer so you don’t know what you are going to get but they are still a side in this league.
“Everything had been done for Higgo and he had passed every test and you can’t recreate a match situation and within five minutes he’s back injured.
“We were good first half and allowed certain important areas for them to dominate but it is what happened. I was pleased but we need 90 minutes and we haven’t done that yet.”
l BETTING ODDS: Truro City 23/17, East Thurrock 36/17
l TEAM NEWS: Sam Higgins suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury, George Craddock sustained ankle ligament damage this week.
Rocks have added former Southend United and Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Kane Ferdinand to the squad.
