ADAM Flanagan will leave his post as Concord Rangers manager at the end of the season.
Flanagan joined the club in May 2015 following the departure of long-serving manager Danny Cowley.
The former Beach Boys defender made the move to the Aspect Arena following a promotion winning season with Brentwood Town in the Isthmian North.
But Flanagan, along with assistant manager Glen Alzapiedi, says he is stepping down following the strain of the current campaign, which saw Concord’s race for National League South survival go down to the penultimate game of the season.
“Having secured the safety of the club in the National League South for a sixth season, Glen and I have decided to step down from our positions at the club,” said Flanagan.
“We mutually came to this decision some time ago for variety of reasons and I notified the chairman (Antony Smith) yesterday at our annual review.
“The chairman will now start the process of finding a replacement. Celebrating a sixth season in the division is a great achievement and I wish nothing but the very best for the club within the next campaign.
“We will fulfil our obligations and take the team for the last remaining fixture against Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.”
The club released a statement shortly afterwards citing Flanagan met with chairman Antony Smith in regards to the 'future direction of the club'.
Following the meeting and subsequent discussions, the club stated a decision to part company was made by mutual consent.
A club statement said: "On behalf of everyone at the club we would like to thank both Adam Flanagan and Glen Alzapiedi for all their hard work over the years, for the successes they have brought, and for everything that they have done for Concord Rangers during their tenure here.
"Once confirmed and in place, the new management team will be in touch with all current Concord Rangers players as soon as possible."
