RICHARD McEvoy has won his first PGA European Tour title at the 285th attempt after emerging victorious at the Porsche European Open.
McEvoy went into the event, which was held in Hamburg, Germany, having won the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France seven days earlier.
And the Shoebury-based professional golfer birdied on the last hole to come out on top in the Porsche European Open.
The Thorpe Hall Golf Club member had only kept his card on the European Tour twice since winning the Q-School in 2003, but his long wait for victory is now over after a closing 73 at Green Eagle Golf Courses handed him an 11 under par total and a one-shot victory over local amateur Allen John, Swede Christopher Blomstrand and Italian Renato Paratore.
