SOUTHEND United have missed out on a loan swoop for Queens Park Rangers striker Aramide Oteh, Echosport understands.
The Shrimpers had been keen to bolster their attacking options with the arrival of Oteh, who scored for QPR in their 2-1 win against Leeds United in the third round of the FA Cup earlier this month.
However, Blues were unable to complete a deal for the 20-year-old who will now spend the rest of the season on loan at Walsall.
Oteh has scored 11 goals in 15 games for Queens Park Rangers’ under 23 team this season.
In total, he has scored twice in 11 appearances for QPR’s first team but will now be lining up for the Saddlers.
