SAMMY Moore was overcome with joy after Concord Rangers strengthened their hopes of reaching the National League South play-off places with a 2-1 win at Woking.
Alex Wall and Joan Luque handed the Beach Boys a two-goal lead at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.
Max Kretzschmar halved the deficit from the penalty spot after Tosan Popo had brought down Paul Hodges, but Concord held on to secure all three points and Moore was full of praise for his players.
"The boys were absolutely outstanding and I'm so proud of them,” said the Beach Boys’ player-manager.
"We were absolutely tremendous in the first half and played some great football at times.
"Our intensity and energy was a level above.
"We could have been three or four goals up at half-time. There was only one team in it and looking to go into the ascendancy.
"We gifted them a goal in the second half. It was a penalty. He's going away from goal and Tosan doesn't need to make the foul.
"After that goal, the crowd got going but our boys were so resolute and putting bodies on the line.
"We were such a threat on the counter attack.
"You need winners, leaders and characters when you go to places like Woking.
"If you have those three things when you're fighting to get into the play-offs, that stands you in good stead."
Wall, who had already seen an effort crash against the crossbar, put Concord in front at the Laithwaite Community Stadium as his effort from an acute angle squirmed under Woking goalkeeper Craig Ross.
And the Beach Boys doubled their advantage five minutes later as Luque's spectacular strike from 30 yards out found the top corner of the net.
Kretzschmar gave Woking hope from the penalty spot after the break, but Concord were deserved winners.
