JOHN Coventry hailed East Thurrock United's 'dogged display' after sealing a 1-0 win over Lewes.
Mitch Gilbey grabbed the only goal of the Isthmian Premier League contest to record back-to-back victories.
And Coventry was pleased to triumph at the officially renamed Grayers Graphics Stadium on Non-League Day.
The Rocks chief said: “We didn’t play the best football that we are capable of, but we got a one-goal lead and held it for a long time.
“We never really looked like we were in trouble and we should have hurt them on the break in the second half.
“It was a good, dogged, dug-in display and if you are going to achieve anything, you have to be able to produce those sorts of performances.
“We were a little bit slack in the middle of the park and it got a bit too open too soon for me.
“We deliberately changed it before half-time to make it more congested.
“I didn’t think they really troubled us in the second half and it was good to also keep a clean sheet.
“The result rounded off a good day for us, with the stadium also getting a new sponsor.
“It’s great that a local company, Grayers Graphics, has backed us because their sponsorship will help.”
