SOUTHEND United striker Theo Robinson remains focused on his football – despite admitting there are more important things to worry about right now.
The forward - who is currently on loan at Colchester United - is out of contract this summer.
But, with the season being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Robinson is doing his best to stay fit.
“What is happening right now is much bigger than football,” said Robinson.
“I just hope everyone stays safe because what’s happening around the world right now is very sad.
“No-one knows what’s going to happen.
“I’m taking each day as it comes and enjoying being with my family more.
“Once we know what is going to happen we can take things from there.”
Robinson has scored 12 goals for the U’s so far this season and is making sure he remains in good shape during the enforced break in the campaign.
“I’m trying to keep to a schedule because that’s what we are used to as footballers,” said Robinson.
“I work out with the kids in the morning and we’re doing trampolining too.
“I’m going out for runs and some people might see me running along the sea-front because I’m still living in Southend.
“I always do the run along the sea front then back to mine following the government guidelines of one exercise session per day, outside the house “We were meant to be back by now but now I’m hearing June.”
However, Robinson is also keen to make the most of being at home.
“The positives are having time with my family and seeing my kids more,” said Robinson. “When you’re travelling to games you can go two or three days without seeing them.
“But I’m enjoying doing some teaching with the kids too.
“I’ve called myself the headteacher because he just walks around and dictates things to other people so that’s the role I’ve given myself.
“My missus is starting a teaching job in September so she’s getting some practice in early!”
